Kids Life Jacket

- my cousin puts a life jacket on her 9 yr old son to go in the pool?
she thinks she is being a "better" mom to do that- is there ANY way I can suggest to her gently to stop becuase I can just see the humiliation in his face when he is around the other kids- she also insists he let her sunscreen him (wont let him do it himself) & leaves a big white stripe nown his nose. awful- sorry- down-

A She needs to start listening to someone! How humiliating for that poor child. We all worry about our kiddies, especially when they are in the pool, but as long as she is watching him and never leaves him unattended, there is no reason why he needs a life jacket. It certainly doesn't not make her a better mum, that's for sure.

- My husband in my dream was white (again.) What does this mean?
Last night I had a dream that my guy and I were waiting at a bus stop. I was wrapping my arms around him from behind and he was really close to me. My guy in this dream was white and tall. I am Black. People at the bus stop were staring at us.My hair was cut to about cheek length and I looked thinner than usual and happy. We got on the bus, he sat in front of me, I sat behind him. I dropped a hair barrette (which was my daughter's) and no one on the bus would say anything besides this one man who said sir your girl dropped this. My guy picked it up and gave it to me. I said thank you and I looked at my stomach, We made it to the store and we were at the kid's section and he told me to get whatever I wanted for my child. I have a 7 year old child in real life. I told him thank you. By this time I was wearing all white, white pants and jacket and I looked at my stomach again and was getting ready to tell him (that I was pregnant) but I didn't and I woke up. What can you make about this dream? It seems that whenever I think about my husband or significant other he always turns out to be a white man and we have children and he is taking care of me. I am 25 and have only been with my kid's dad and we split seven years ago and he was Black. I have not dated for several years. I am attracted to all men no matter race but my dreams say otherwise since my husband is always white and my kids mixed. Any thoughts?

A It's possible that you are considering seeking a new partner in an interracial relationship. But I feel that you have some confusion about how you might feel if that were to happen. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained. You can only try. The danger is that you meet someone and attachment can be very, very easily formed, which may not allow too much breathing space to trial a relationship. I suggest this approach. Consider dating a white guy, this is what I think your heart wants to do and you'll need to at least to have tried it to satisfy yourself about that. But, from the beginning of such a relationship, it's up to you to keep your wits about you and talk to the guy honestly about any thoughts, or fears, you might be having about an interracial relationship. Basically it comes down to two individuals who are right for each other, no matter skin colour. Love can conquer is love is true. And there are countless wonderful marriages and relationships that are interracial. You've got to be brave and be confident about how you want to approach a relationship. You needed give your heart to anyone, black or white, who isn't right for you. :) Oh, one more word. about the pregancy part. You're at an age where your body is in a high hormonal state. Very normal to have pregnancy dreams and nothing that needs interpreting too hard.
