- What are the best life jackets?
I have 6 children (two sets of triplets). The first set of triplets are all boys that are 4 years old. Tyler James Josh Ryan Andrew David The second set are girls that are 8 months old. Kayla Lynn Lauren Elizabeth Alexis Hope Anyway, we have a pool but I've always just put floaties on them but they know how to take them off and do it often but are always in close eye. For a week in the summer we are going to rent a beach house with my sister, and there will be 11 kids total. I decided I probably should put a life jacket on all of them because of the amount of kids. I know there are so many different kinds so what kind is best. Thanks for your help. I don't mind spending $100 for each one as long as it's good quality and safe. I think these are really cute. They come in both pink and blue. http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=5944 http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=95755 I'm not sure why I put the names. Just kind of a habit I guess.
A Why did we need to know all their names? Just curious, not being snide. Anyway, for the 4 year old invest in some Coast Guard approved lifevests. You can find them almost anywhere (Target, sporting goods stores, etc). Look for the seal. They come in all kinds of characters so you don't have to worry about them just being bright fluorescent orange. For the infants, same thing, Coast Guard approved life vest but MAKE SURE you get the kind especially made for infants that will ALWAYS turn them face up in the water. Nothing like a infant floating face down, ya know? Be especially aware of the weight limitations. Do not get a vest in a bigger size because it will last longer. Instead it will slip right over his head in an accident. And always tighten the straps appropriately. ETA: the items from One Step Ahead ARE NOT life saving devised. They are swim aids, teaching aides. They will not and are not designed as a flotation device and will not be adequate in case of an accident.
